BLUE OCEAN SHIELD（BOS） ballast water treatment system, a compact, modular and reliable Ballast Water Treatment System, is designed and developed by COSCO Shipbuilding Industry Company and Tsinghua University. The product design and material selection follows standard marine practice to achieve safe and reliable solutions for both new building and retrofit applications.

BOS incorporates a two-stage approach of filtration and UV sterilization to effectively manage the ballast water. It can work perfectly to meet the D2 standard and the requirements of G8 and G9. Causing no second pollution and any other negative influence to the water and vessels. BOS is a purely environment-friendly system featured with safe and reliable operation, easy and low-cost maintenance, small footprint, little noise and large disinfection water volume.
